Sewing table to night table and bedroom mini makeover...

Happy Tuesday everyone!
I was busy last weekend working on a bedroom mini makeover!
Here is a part of the makeover.

I had found an old sewing table a few months back and thought what a great night table it would make! It cost twenty dollars without the sewing machine in it.  I spent the following months trying to find one to match it from a thriftstore. I finally found another one this weekend. It came with the sewing machine in it and was thirty-five dollars, too much for me but it was 50% off Fridays so it only cost me seventeen dollars!

You can see here in an old post what I had been using as night stands before. They were two little metal tables from IKEA.  While they held most necessities, It dwarfed in comparison to my kingsize bed. My bed is quite high and I wanted a table that would be high as well.

I painted both tables in my favourite white, Ben Moore's Cloud White. This table had three little diamond shapes on the front which I removed. I may add a knob to match it with the table on the right.

You can see the before pic of one of the tables here in an old post. You can also see those little diamonds on the front, a little too retro for me!

I removed the knob the table came with and added a little pink glass knob.

Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned tomorrow when I reveal my new bedskirt!
Be Blessed!

I'll be partying with these ladies this week:

  1. Looks gorgeous! I love the fact that those are sewing tables ... I never would have guessed!

You hear a lot about designers using Cloud White these days - just wondering what colour you have on your bedroom walls? I want to paint our room white as well, just don't know which colour (we are North facing - so cooler light makes it's way into our space). Any advice?

  2. I too have an old sewing table (sans machine) for my nightstand! I love that it is a little bit higher than an average night stand. I painted mine but since I didn't want to put a knob on it, I just turned it around and the back is now the front. Mine was actually in our chicken coop when we moved to Red Gate Farm.... so it was free with purchase you might say ;)

  4. Too funny, I was giving my bedroom a mini makeover this weekend too! We rearranged all the furniture and put up some new curtains. It's still not photo-worthy yet, though.

I love those tables and they are the perfect size for beside your bed. Very crisp looking!!

  8. I am so glad you posted this! I just pulled 2 old sewing tables from my warehouse yesterday to paint up for my guest room project! I was aftraid they would still be too small next to a king size bed, but your photos have put my fears to rest! They looks great! Thanks for the post....everything looks fabulous, as always!

  19. The sewing table are a perfect fit for your bedroom. I love them painted up in white.

I have a sewing table in my living room. It fills in an ackward spot at the top of my stairs leading to the kitchen. I love that it's tall enough to allow a basket underneath it for all the stuff that needs to go downstairs, yet I'm too lazy to do it right away! LOL

Can't wait to see tomorrow post.

  31. Very pretty Kim! I love the pink knob. :) They look so great in your room! I have those same Ikea tables, I love them and I had them next to my bed at one point, we have a king too, and they were so small. Now it serves as a little table in the family room in the winter and goes on my deck in the summer! :) I can't wait to see the new bedskirt!!
