Another five minute cushion cover x2

Hi everyone,
Remember my post about the 5 minute cushion?
Well I just went back to read  and try it again.
You can find the tutorial here.

I've had my eye on this brownish gray linen damask for over a year now and couldn't decide whether or not to get it. I wanted to use it in the breakfast nook but it would have clashed with the apple green damask wallpaper in there and the thoughts of tearing it down wasn't appealing so I decided  against the fabric.

I seen it again at Fabricland and there was only a couple of meters left but it was 66% off so I knew it was meant to be,
I was able to make 2 of these 5 minute cushions covers for $12!

I put them in the family room where they go great with the burlap and linen cushions that are already in there.

The cover is a basic envelope style and once you calculate how much fabric you'll need and cut out your piece it literally will take you five minutes to sew it up!

If you can sew a straight line you can whip yourself up a set of covers in about 10 minutes.
(Not including the time it takes to calculate and cut your fabric especially if you're mathematically challenged like myself).

A meter/yard or two of fabric and you can change things up in a few minutes!
Have a great week,
and whether you are sewing challenged or not hope you give this a try!

Blessings!

  1. That is such a beautiful fabric, Kim! Looks great against those gorgeous white slipcovers. And what a deal you got on it, too! Ever since you posted that tutorial, I've made all my pillow covers envelope style...and recommended this method to anyone I know wanting to make pillows. It's so incredibly easy, why would you want to bother with zippers or buttons?

Hope you have a great week!

  3. I love the fabric, it is soooo stylish and looks soo great with the other pillows! I am not sure I can make the pillows though, because I am EXTREMELY (!!!) mathematically challanged hahahaha. But since I love them so much I can always try, can't I?
    Have a lovely day:)

  7. Your pillow looks great. I haven't seen that fabric in our Fabricland. I need to go this week and see if I can find some white linen, I shall keep my eye out for that gorgeous fabric, too!
I found your blog over at "Happy at Home" and then I realized, upon reading your blog, that you are Canadian. I am in Winnipeg and am a Christian also, like yourself.
Have a great week and God bless.

  11. Truly pretty fabric! They look great with your white slips. I love envelope pillows, so easy to make and take off and wash when the kids or dog get to them :) I made three 22" pillow slips Friday night. We are temporarily using a twin bed as a couch in our basement tv room (stairs are difficult to get a couch down) and the big pillows make it more like a day bed.
